Thanks. All the repairs were done by our HPN Nurses and all were done during week days. if child presents during weekend then our practice is to stop using the line and repair ASAP on Monday.

Interesting study demonstrating good practice for saving CVLs for sure. Is it routine practice to take blood culture pre and post repair ? do you cover with antibiotics for all repairs? Thanks.

Thanks. We don’t cover repairs with antibiotics and we have now stopped doing blood cultures based on our recent audit results that showed risk of infection post repair is minimal to none in our HPN patients pool.
